Jez News
I am amazed and delighted that my 1985 single"1968 Homecoming Queen Rides Again" is suddenly getting some interest in Japan. I recorded that song in 1983 with my musical co-horts Victor Bisetti and Fitzhugh Jenkins. At the time I was playing with The Honey's and had just finished some gigs with The Legendary Ladies of Rock and Roll(Ronnie Spector, Darlene Love,Martha Reeves) The song was written about my sister in law and is basically a true story. Musically the track is without a doubt my tribute to Brian Wilson,  there are no harmonies, but the way I layered the background strings, vibes etc. were a direct nod to the Great one!
The B side "No Violins" is more of a new wave power pop number and features the rockin guitar work of Tommy Dunbar of "The Rubinoos" I still have some stock so keep those orders coming and Thank you to my Japanese fans!

It was written by me and Stephen Kalinich  in 2009. When I first read Stephens lyrics I knew it had to be for Francine and the music flowed quickly. The soul gospel vibe of the song is brought to life by an array of musical talent from Atlanta, New York and Los Angeles.
